All Souls Evensong

3 pm, Sunday, Nov. 3, St. Mary of the Hills

The choir will sing a very special Evensong commemorating the Feast of All Souls this Sunday at 3 pm. The service includes reading aloud the names of those who have died in the past year.

Music for this Evensong includes a plainsong Magnificat and Nunc dimittis, Proulx’s gorgeous Prayer of the Venerable Bede with alto soloist Kathryn Santiago, the haunting Song for Athene by Tavener, and Anerio’s Requiem aeternam.

Please note that in light of the overwhelming needs in our area currently, the choir will offer a much simpler gathering than usual after the service and will instead be adding what we usually spend on the reception to the Alms Basin. We hope you will also consider making a donation, which will go in its entirety to Helene Relief through Wine to Water.
