Here are some ways to volunteer as we continue to respond to the needs of our community in the wake of Hurricane Helene:

  • Samaritan’s Purse: Tree work, debris cleanup, roof tarping and mud outs. Sign up.
  • Appalachian Medical Reserve Corps: Coordinating volunteers with state and national emergency response teams. Sign up.
  • Down Home NC is accepting volunteers daily to conduct door-to-door community outreach in various counties across Western NC. Visit Down Home NC’s Facebook and Instagram pages for volunteer opportunities.
  • American Red Cross Shelter Volunteers needed. Sign up.
  • Children’s Council of Watauga County is distributing diapers, wipes and formula to all children and families in Watauga County. Learn more.

The Parish Hall at St. Mary of the Hills continues to be a drop-off point for resources. We will ensure that they are delivered to the appropriate locations in Boone for distribution.

If you’d like to make a monetary donation to assist with hurricane relief efforts, you can do so here. Please designate “Rector Discretionary” if you’d like your donation to help locally. If you’d like to make a general donation to assist those impacted by Hurricane Helene in all locations, designate “Episcopal Relief & D” or donate directly to Episcopal Relief & Development’s Hurricane Relief Fund.
