On Sunday, December 4 at 2:00PM, come be a part of a journey into the season through scripture and song. The service, led by our choir, weaves familiar passages of scripture with carols of anticipation and expectation.
During the lunchtime hour on Thursdays throughout the season of Advent, in-person or online, we will discuss the powerful book, Names for the Messiah, from noted Old Testament scholar Walter Brueggemann. In this four week study, he explores the scriptural names for the Holy One we anticipate in this sacred season, and the ways in which these names deepen our understanding of God’s love for us.
The book is available in the parish office for a suggested donation of $10.00. It is also available to be ordered online from a variety of distributors. Pick one up today and join the conversation!
Back by popular demand, the Rector’s Forum in Advent will be grounded in reflections from the monks of the Society of Saint John the Evangelist. Each week, one of the brothers will offer a short video reflection to launch our conversation.
Join us on Sundays in Advent - December 4, 11, and 18 - at 9:00AM in the Barrett Room (second floor, above the Parish Hall).
In this Longest Night service of Hope and Light, we acknowledge that there are many for whom the holiday season is not a joyful time. During this service of worship, we are invited to be our true selves and to allow our true feelings to be expressed, trusting in the light and hope revealed in Christ.
This service will be held Wednesday, December 21 at 6:00PM at Faithbridge United Methodist Church (194 Aho Road). Annually, this service is offered in partnership with friends from Faithbridge United Methodist Church and Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church.
